Sternula Support's Guinea's Maritime Vision
Sternula recently participated in a high-level delegation visit to the Republic of Guinea at the invitation of the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs. The three-day mission was conducted in support of the country’s Simandou 2040 strategic vision, which aims to drive sustainable economic growth and infrastructure development across key sectors, including maritime affairs.
Introducing AIS 2.0 And VDES
The discussions focused on how this next-generation maritime communication technology can improve maritime domain awareness, facilitate information sharing, strengthen safety and security, and support more efficient maritime operations. With significantly increased data capacity and global two-way connectivity, AIS 2.0 has the potential to enable a new generation of maritime digital services.
Dialogue with Maritime Authorities
In addition to meetings with ministerial leadership, the delegation met with technical departments and maritime agencies responsible for maritime governance and operations.
These discussions included representatives from the National Centre for Fisheries Surveillance and Enforcement (CNSP) and the Maritime Affairs Navigation Agency (ANAM), where opportunities for future cooperation and pilot projects were explored.
As Guinea continues to invest in its maritime sector, digital technologies are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Looking Ahead
The meetings concluded with a shared interest in further dialogue and collaboration between Guinean stakeholders and Sternula. We welcomes the opportunity to contribute its expertise in maritime digitalization and looks forward to exploring how AIS 2.0 can support the continued development of Guinea’s maritime ecosystem.
