New ESA Funded Project
We are proud to announce that Sternula has won a new ESA contract, leading a collaboration between industry leaders in VDES development. VASIRA (European VDES Reference Architecture and Related Standardisation, Interoperability and Regulatory Activities), is an ambitious project to pave the way for the worldwide VDES implementation.
Our partners on the VASIRA project are: LusoSpace, Albatros-Tech, Bergmann Marine, Space Norway, and AAC ClydeSpace. These companies are industry leaders in the development of VDES related technologies, all from ship to shore and space.
Ambitious Goals
The goal of this ambitious project is to define a European VDES reference architecture that can federate multi-operator terrestrial systems, ensuring a coherent technical baseline.
This is an important step towards standardization, enabling the VASIRA project to directly contribute to filling regulatory gaps regarding VDES in maritime organizations.
Paving The Way For VDES
Our CEO Lars Moltsen sees this project as an important step towards global VDES connectivity:
“VASIRA is a collaboration between companies with the same goal in mind, and that is to align multiple industries on the future of VDES in Europe. The importance of this cannot be understated, and we at Sternula are proud to be at the helm of this ambitious project.”
