International Visit in Korsør
On the 15th of January, two Sternula team members ventured to the Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) Headquarters in Korsør, Denmark. In Korsør, he met with representatives from the WSP Hong Kong Office and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
Live Demonstration of S-124
DEMA hosted a demonstration of the VDES testbed in Korsør, utilizing Sternula’s MMS hardware and 4 VDES base stations, making it the world’s most advanced end-to-end implementation of a VDES-based digital service.
In this live demonstration, a Navigational warning (S-124) was successfully broadcast utilizing a VDE-TER connection.
The setup is developed according to the latest standardization around VDES and associated technologies, and aligned with IALA guideline G1117.
Knowledge Sharing
It was a great pleasure to engage in a knowledge sharing session on digitalization of the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) function with WSP and HKSAR.
The VDES testbed in Korsør is established under the ongoing MaDaMe project, a collaboration between Baltic maritime authorities and industry, supported by Interreg Baltic Sea Region.
