A successful installation of AIS 2.0(VDES), Sternula MMS Proxy, and 4G Above Deck Unit on a vessel in Australia!

MMS Proxy directs maritime communications to exchange data and messages between authorized maritime stakeholders (maritime administrations, port management, ship crew, etc.) in an efficient, reliable, and seamless manner.

4G Above Deck Unit is a modem that allows for connection with MMS Proxy via AIS 2.0(VDES) or 4G network when being near shore.

Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is yet another participant in the Worldwide AIS 2.0 demo project – the world’s most ambitious maritime digitalization project and is now ready to test AIS 2.0 and selected maritime services.
