The 4G Above Deck Unit (ADU) is a 4G modem in a protective casing, fit for the harsh maritime environment, that can be fitted on the railing of a vessel.
The unit has a lever in each corner of the box that fixes the lid to the casing thereby sealing and protecting the unit. Recognizing that water will condense on the inside of the box, due to fluctuating temperatures, the box has a flexible tube attached at the bottom that allows any water to escape the enclosure.
The main task of the 4G Above Deck Unit is to provide mobile network data connectivity for ships in near-shore waters.
The 4G Above Deck unit should be integrated with the Sternula MMS Proxy.
Sternula 4G Above Deck Unit requires minimal setup and only one power supply connection (12/24V).
The Sternula 4G Above Deck Unit is intuitive to operate. The only thing that has to be done before turning it on is to insert a nano SIM Card into the SIM slot, then plug in the data, and power the data.
Sternula 4G Above Deck Unit is provided with an internet connectivity modem, two 4G/3G diversity antennas, and a super-fast 3G/4G that creates a secured connection to update the firmware of Sternula MMS Proxy and transmit data between maritime parties.
After inserting SIM-Card data, Sternula 4G Above Deck Unit allows you to easily establish connections with maritime authorities, maritime administrations, ports administrations, etc. near coasts.
